Maritime Museum of Crete & Firka Fortress
OVERVIEW

At the entrance of the old port there is the Firka Fortress also known as Revellino del Porto, as the Venetians called it. It is a fortification project for the protection of the port that was completed in 1620 and offers you a panoramic view of the entire port. At the entrance of the castle you can visit and witness the maritime traditions of Crete through the Maritime Museum and the 2,500 exhibits on permanent display. Discover heirlooms recovers from the seabed divided into 13 sections spanning two floors, from the Bronze Age to modern times.
