Afterwards, we head to visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion and we will have free time in the city center before returning to the port of Souda.

After being picked up from the port of Souda get ready to discover the world of the Minoan Civilization and the fascinating myths of the Labyrinth and the Minotaur and Daedalus with Icarus to unfold before you. Tour the site’s monuments and admire the Knossos’s Palace, the royal apartments, the storehouses with jars, the throne room and wall paintings that probably depicted religious ceremonies.

Next, we are going to visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. It is one of the oldest museums in Greece, possessing one of the most important collections in the world, the Minoan Antiquities. The exhibits are representative samples from all periods of Cretan prehistory with unique masterpieces of Minoan art spanning approximately 5,500 years.

Heraklion is one of the most historic cities of the Mediterranean with a rich tradition yet a modern approach, liveliness and many visitors all year round. The monuments and the history of the city lend a glorious past that you can discover through the museums and exhibitions as well as the iconic walls of Koule in the Venetian harbor. At the same time, Heraklion is an urban center having a large market, crowded cafes, intense culture, traditional Cretan cuisine and nightlife.
